Algorithmic trading involves a computer program (or a robot) that follows a set of instructions (algorithm) to execute trading orders. The algorithm could be built based on a mathematical model, statistical information and is fed with data such as price, volume and timing.

The main advantage is that a computer could analyze input data and execute multiple orders at the same time and much faster than a human could do it.

You will find many companies or individuals promising quick fortunes with “secret trading formulas” or “algorithmic trading.” To avoid being a victim of scams, conduct your own diligent investigation. Distrust magical formulas.
